Radon typically moves from the ground into a home through drains, and cracks or other openings in the foundation due to pressure differentials. Radon can build up to unacceptable levels in your living space where it can lead to higher than normal exposure.
Studies have shown radon to be the leading 
cause of lung cancer in non smokers.
